How does coaching work?
Meet with me online, once a week, or once a fortnight (or whatever works for you!).
Coaching is a traditional process where a trained coach supports someone in clarifying their goals, overcoming obstacles, and unlocking your potential. It’s not about giving advice or telling you what to do—it’s about helping you discover your own solutions.
ADHD coaching is a supportive, collaborative process that helps people with ADHD better understand how their brain works—and develop practical strategies to manage everyday challenges. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing past experiences, ADHD coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. That said, there will always be time for exploring how living with ADHD has impacted your life.
In ADHD coaching, you and your coach work together to:
Clarify goals – Identify what you want to achieve in areas like work, relationships, or daily routines.
Build personalised strategies – Learn tools tailored to your unique brain to help with time management, organisation, focus, follow-through, and self-care.
Increase self-awareness – Understand your ADHD strengths and challenges, so you can work with your brain instead of against it.
Create accountability and support – Your coach helps you stay on track, problem-solve obstacles, and celebrate progress.
Boost confidence – With the right systems and support in place, you’ll feel more capable and empowered in your daily life.
Think of me as a thinking partner who helps you bridge the gap between intention and action. Coaching provides structure, encouragement, and practical skills so you can thrive with ADHD—not just cope with it.
FAQs
-
Coaching is not therapy. While therapy explores past experiences and emotions, ADHD coaching focuses on the present and future — helping you set goals, develop routines, and move towards the life you want. Many people find coaching complements therapy or medication as part of their overall ADHD support.
-
No. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to benefit from ADHD coaching. Many of my clients are self-identified or currently waiting for assessment. Coaching focuses on your lived experience and the areas of life you’d like to explore.
-
My background as a Registered Mental Health Nurse provides a strong foundation in understanding ADHD, mental health, and the wider healthcare system. It means I’m trained to work ethically, sensitively, and safely with clients who may also experience anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation alongside ADHD.
While coaching is not therapy or clinical treatment, my nursing experience helps me recognise when someone may benefit from additional support and to signpost appropriately. It also enables me to bring a trauma-informed, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to my coaching practice — supporting you as a whole person, not just your ADHD traits.

Coaching sessions are typically held online via Google Meet and last 50 minutes. We’ll start with an introductory session to discuss your goals and explore how coaching can help. From there, we’ll work together on practical strategies, accountability, and self-understanding.
-
That depends on your goals and circumstances. Most people book between 12 and 24 sessions (about 3-6 months of support). You can add extra sessions during your package if you wish. We’ll review your progress regularly and decide together what feels right.
-
Each session is guided by your priorities. We might explore your executive functioning, motivation, time management, experiences of Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria or emotional regulation. You’ll leave with clear next steps, tools, and insights to try between sessions.
-
Absolutely not! ADHD is complex and it takes time and support to understand your brain. Understanding ADHD is part of how I coach so don’t worry… I can help you understand how ADHD shows up in your life, whether that be procrastination or struggling with directions.

I offer single sessions and packages. Packages are slightly discounted. I am not currently offering sliding scale sessions, however check back here regularly for updates.

Yes — you’re welcome to contact me between sessions if you need to reschedule or ask practical questions about your coaching. However, I’m not able to provide ongoing support or crisis management outside of our agreed sessions. If something urgent arises, I’ll respond as soon as I can during working hours, but please note that I may not be immediately available. Coaching is designed to support you within our structured sessions, so any in-depth issues can be explored together at our next meeting.
